Gateway OT Services LLC

Welcome!

My Name is Kristin Linder-Brown, OTR/L, SEP — a dual-credentialed Occupational Therapist and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, one of the only providers in Minnesota combining these two approaches for adult trauma care. As your sole therapist, I offer a body-based path to healing when talk therapy alone hits a wall — helping you move through stuck patterns using sensory and nervous-system-informed techniques, so coping skills aren't just learned, but truly integrated into your everyday life.

Somatic and Sensory Approaches

Sensory interventions for nervous system dysregulation focus on engaging the senses to help individuals regain balance and calm. Techniques may include deep breathing exercises, grounding activities, and sensory-rich experiences like using textured objects or calming scents. These approaches aim to soothe the nervous system, reduce anxiety, and promote a sense safety. Somatic Experiencing, as a healing modality for PTSD, emphasizes the connection between the body and mind It encourages individuals to become aware of bodily sensations and feelings, helping them process traumatic experiences safely. By integrating mindful movement and sensory awareness, Somatic Experiencing supports the release of stored trauma, enabling individuals to heal and reclaim their sense of self.
